The Dubai Mall is the most famous shopping mall in UAE due to its ranking as the tenth largest shopping mall in the world by gross leasable area and the first one by annual visitors, with a record of 65 million. Located in Dubai downtown, the Dubai Mall opened on May 8th 2009 and currently includes over 1,200 stores. The mall includes the Dubai Aquarium and Discovery Centre, a 250-room luxury hotel, 22 cinema screens and over 120 restaurants and cafes.
The Aquarium and Underwater Zoo impresses visitors with one of the world’s largest acrylic panel measuring over 32 m wide and 8.3 m high, allowing to enjoy a spectacular clear view of over 33,000 aquatic animals.
The Dubai Fountain is the world largest fountain system featuring high-pressure water jets as high as 140 metres. The Fountain is set on the Burj Khalifa Lake and was designed by WET Design who is also responsible for the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. The Dubai Fountain is animated with performances set to light and music and performs daily, with a performance repertoire of approximately 35 songs.
